Softball Recap: Plano East Drops Season-High Score on Princeton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plano East). Everything went their way against Princeton on Saturday as Plano East made off with a 25-4 victory. The result was nothing new for Plano East, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Julia Wilson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Dawson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.

Plano East is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Princeton dropped their record down to 4-14-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, it'll be Eastside v. Westside when Plano East and Plano West meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Princeton, they will take on Rock Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Hill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something Princeton will no doubt try to take advantage of.
