Football Game Preview: Richland Rangers vs. Morton Panthers

Richland is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will square off against the Morton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Richland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Richland's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Pisgah's usually-dominant defense. The Rangers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Dragons 35-6.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Morton faced off against Raleigh on Friday. The Panthers were dealt a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Morton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Richland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Richland has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 217.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Morton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 185.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
