Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bishop Kelly last Friday, Hillcrest came back down to earth. Hillcrest lost 9-3 to the Mountain Home Tigers on Saturday.

Bowen Croft made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Reichelt, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mountain Home, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will challenge Skyline at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Hillcrest's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Mountain Home, they will face off against Canyon Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Home's pitchers better be ready for this one: Canyon Ridge has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
