Softball Recap: Maynard Beats Hillcrest for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Maynard hadn't done well against Hillcrest recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Maynard blew past Hillcrest 23-5. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three games by 14 runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Maynard's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Maynard and Hillcrest will both be playing Armorel the next time they take the field. Maynard will host Armorel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Hillcrest will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on April 1.
