Basketball Recap: Culver Academies Skates Past Fort Wayne North Side with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norwell, Culver Academies was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 60-20 victory over the Fort Wayne North Side Legends. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their 21-point performance the contest before.

Culver Academies' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kate Clemons, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 boards. That's the most points Clemons has posted since back in December of 2024. Mimi Smith was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Culver Academies was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne North Side only posted two.

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne North Side still got an impressive performance from Jayonna Flotow, who almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, ten rebounds, and 14 blocks. Flotow has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played.

The win got Culver Academies back to even at 3-3. As for Fort Wayne North Side, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Culver Academies will challenge NorthWood at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Wayne North Side, they have already played their next matchup, a 72-32 loss against Garrett on the 18th.
