Softball Recap: Rosa Fort Takes a Loss

Rosa Fort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Independence Wildcats, falling 26-4. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Rosa Fort got a big performance out of Seleena Grant, who scored a run and stole three bases. Grant is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Keanah Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Rosa Fort's record is now 0-11-1. As for Independence, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Rosa Fort will welcome Cleveland Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosa Fort's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cleveland Central has averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Independence, they will challenge Center Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
