Recap: Mitchell Tigers vs. Gering Bulldogs
The Mitchell Tigers struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Gering Bulldogs had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Mitchell had to suffer through a rough 63-35 loss at the hands of Gering. Mitchell has not had much luck with Gering recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: Addy Bowlin scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Gering found their leader in underclassman Jacelyn Brown, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Neveah Hrasky, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Mitchell dropped their record down to 4-18 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Gering, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.
Mitchell will square off against Chadron at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chadron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Gering, they will head out on the road to challenge McCook at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gering has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
