Basketball Game Preview: Smyrna Bulldogs vs. Rockvale + How To Watch

Two dominant guards in Elliyon Kinzer and Jayden Evans are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Smyrna Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against Rockvale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Smyrna has three straight victories, Rockvale has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Smyrna not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 86-53). Everything went their way against Central Magnet as they made off with a 78-58 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-20.

Kaden Matthews produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Brodie Webb was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and four steals.

Smyrna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Rockvale didn't have quite enough to beat Ensworth on Monday and fell 61-58.

Smyrna now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rockvale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Smyrna lost to Rockvale on the road by a decisive 75-56 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Darryl Cotton (who shot 56% from the field en route to 20 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
