Soccer Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Bassett Bengals, falling 5-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Bassett this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Tuesday.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-2. As for Bassett, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Martinsville will face off against rival Magna Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bassett is set to square off against their familiar foe Mecklenburg County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bassett are on a three-game streak of home wins, Mecklenburg County a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
