Softball Recap: Peru Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Peru lost to Northeastern Clinton back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Nighthawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Nighthawks have posted against the Cougars since May 18, 2022.

Peru's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Northeastern Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Peru will be playing in front of their home fans against Saranac at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeastern Clinton, they will challenge Missisquoi Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
