Basketball Recap: Chapman Falls Despite Big Games from Ny'trinity Smith and Kara Twitty

Chapman lost against Blue Ridge back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers fell 43-37 to the Fighting Tigers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chapman's loss came despite strong showings from Kara Twitty and Ny'Trinity Smith. Twitty posted 20 points and six rebounds, while Smith had two points in addition to six boards and three blocks. With that strong performance, Twitty is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Opal Maralit was a one-woman wrecking crew For Blue Ridge. as she shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and five steals. Maralit's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Hanley, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Chapman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Blue Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Chapman will be playing in front of their home fans against Chesnee at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blue Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Landrum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
