Baseball Recap: Elbert Comes Up Short

Elbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-3 to the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Saturday.

Elbert saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Dooley, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Elbert's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Evangel Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Elbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cheyenne Wells at 4:00 p.m. on April 4. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will take on Calhan at 4:00 a.m. on April 1.
