Softball Recap: Lower Merion Comes Up Short

Lower Merion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lower Moreland Lions.

Lower Merion saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Gilligan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Lower Merion's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lower Moreland, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Lower Merion will head out to take on Haverford at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Lower Moreland, they will square off against Norristown at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
