Softball Recap: Von Steuben Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Von Steuben finally came back down to earth on Monday. They lost 14-1 to the Jones Eagles. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Von Steuben saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annayeli Blanco, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Blanco has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Von Steuben's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Jones, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Jones will face off against Prosser at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Von Steuben will be paying especially close attention to Jones' matchup: after Jones faces off against Prosser, they'll take on Von Steuben again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
