Maranatha Christian had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Southwest SD Raiders. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Maranatha Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-19, 25-20.

Carter 'CJ' Hays paced Maranatha Christian's offense, picking up 23 kills. Hays got some help from Jackson Ostrowski and his 42 assists. Ostrowski was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Maranatha Christian's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Southwest SD, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha Christian will square off against La Jolla Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Torreys at the right time seeing as the Torreys are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Southwest SD, they are taking a road trip to challenge Castle Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
