Basketball Recap: Miami Christian Triumphs

After losing to Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) the last time they met, Miami Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Miami Christian Victors pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Victors.

Miami Christian was led to victory by Anthony Solis and Hector Saavedra. Solis went 8 of 12 en route to 18 points and five rebounds, while Saavedra went 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Saavedra is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian DeGuzman, who posted six points.

Miami Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.
