Basketball Game Preview: Pescadero Vikings vs. KIPP Esperanza Eagles

The Pescadero Vikings will be playing at home against the KIPP Esperanza Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pescadero saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were dealt a 45-18 loss at the hands of Contra Costa Christian. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, KIPP Esperanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 62-37 to Mountain View Academy. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Pescadero now has a losing record at 1-2. As for KIPP Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Pescadero came up short against KIPP Esperanza in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 53-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of KIPP Esperanza's Eddie Whiteside, who posted 20 points.
