Basketball Recap: William Owens and Prescott Horvath Secure Win for Mishawaka Marian

Mishawaka Marian won the last time they faced South Bend Adams and things went their way on Friday too. The Mishawaka Marian Knights came out on top against the South Bend Adams Eagles by a score of 65-53.

Leading Mishawaka Marian to victory were Prescott Horvath and William Owens. Horvath dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds, while Owens almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. What's more, Horvath posted four blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Joaquin Wilson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Mishawaka Marian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, South Bend Adams still got an impressive performance from Jarvis Tolbert, who went 9-for-18 to rack up 24 points and eight rebounds. Tolbert's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalen Allen, who went 5-for-7 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Mishawaka Marian's record is now 13-9. As for South Bend Adams, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mishawaka Marian will take on La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mishawaka Marian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. South Bend Adams also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.4 points per game.
