Softball Recap: Daniel Boone Comes Up Short

After flying high against Morristown-Hamblen East on Tuesday, Daniel Boone came back down to earth. The Trailblazers lost 11-1 to the Dobyns-Bennett Indians on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trailblazers have suffered against the Indians since April 30, 2024.

Laney Britton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Daniel Boone has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Dobyns-Bennett, their record is now 12-4.

Coming up, Daniel Boone will look to defend their home field on Friday against Morristown-Hamblen West at 5:30 p.m. Dobyns-Bennett will be paying especially close attention to the Trailblazers' game: after the Trailblazers face off against Greeneville, they'll take on Dobyns-Bennett again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
