Volleyball Recap: Round Rock Westwood Warriors vs. Vista Ridge Rangers

Round Rock Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of the Vista Ridge Rangers by a score of 3-2. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Round Rock Westwood took Vista Ridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-9.

Merrick Hammel went supernova for Vista Ridge, getting 24 digs and four aces. Hammel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Round Rock Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-27. As for Vista Ridge, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.

Round Rock Westwood will take on St. Stephen's Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against McNeil at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista Ridge is facing McNeil at the right time seeing as McNeil is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
