Sweetwater entered their tilt with Alcoa on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tornadoes 7-5. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Tornadoes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Sweetwater pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Alcoa, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sweetwater will host Maryville Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sweetwater's pitchers better be ready for this one: Maryville Christian has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Alcoa, they will be playing at home against Oneida at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Alcoa will need to watch out since Oneida has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
