Baseball Game Preview: George Washington Patriots vs. Hinkley Thunder

The George Washington Patriots will face off against the Hinkley Thunder at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither George Washington nor Hinkley posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

George Washington easily dispatched Thomas Jefferson on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Patriots fell just short of Denver South by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

George Washington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Wiederholt, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hinkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 15-2 to Northridge.

Hinkley's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for George Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Everything went George Washington's way against Hinkley when the teams last played back in March, as George Washington made off with a 22-0 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
