Baseball Recap: Weed Triumphs

Weed was forced to take a big defeat against Mt. Shasta on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Friday. The Cougars won by a run and slipped past the Bears 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Bears on Tuesday, they had to take a 16-2 loss.

Weed let Jackson Keen and Conner Hosino run wild. Keen went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Hosino went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most doubles Keen has posted since back in March.

Weed has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Mt. Shasta, their record now sits at 11-9.

Coming up, Weed will square off against Modoc at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Shasta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulelake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Honkers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.14 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
