Basketball Game Preview: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Chester Yellowjackets

The Red Bud Musketeers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Chester Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chester took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Red Bud, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Red Bud earned a 40-29 victory over Gibault Catholic. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Musketeers.

Meanwhile, Chester came up short against Wesclin on Monday, falling 70-44. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Warriors are ranked 178th).

Red Bud will have to contain Lexie Mott as she made an impact in Chester's last game. She dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards.

Red Bud's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.

Red Bud was able to grind out a solid victory over Chester in their previous meeting back in January, winning 50-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Bud since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
