Preview: Elkhart Wildcats vs. Syracuse Bulldogs
After three games on the road, Elkhart is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Syracuse Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elkhart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Elkhart strolled past Goodwell with points to spare, taking the game 33-17. That 33-17 margin sets a new team best for Elkhart this season.
It was another big night for Bella Brillhart, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Camila Garcia, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Syracuse was the victim of a rough 70-44 loss at the hands of Wichita County on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Syracuse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Wichita County is ranked third).
Elkhart now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Syracuse, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Elkhart against Syracuse in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 62-34 victory. Does Elkhart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Syracuse turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
