Soccer Recap: St. Xavier Takes a Loss

St. Xavier entered their matchup against Olentangy Liberty on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bombers fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but St. Xavier couldn't quite close it out.

Rowdy Scheer and Jack Dunn scored both of St. Xavier's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

St. Xavier's loss dropped their record down to 8-4-4. As for Olentangy Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. St. Xavier will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Western Hills at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. Western Hills will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something St. Xavier surely won't give up without a fight. As for Olentangy Liberty, they will be playing at home against Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
