Basketball Recap: Moriah Armstrong's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Covenant Christian over Triton Central

Covenant Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-41 to the Triton Central Tigers on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly eight points.

Covenant Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Moriah Armstrong, who posted 13 points and six boards. Vivian Haffner was another key player, putting up nine points.

Leading Triton Central to victory were Maryrose Felling and Quinn King. Felling put up 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, while King went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Compton, who had six points.

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Triton Central, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Covenant Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-20 win against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on the 4th. As for Triton Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-31 victory against Beech Grove on the 30th.
