Liberty-Benton waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Vanlue Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kylie Steinman was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Gerken, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Liberty-Benton pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Vanlue, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Liberty-Benton will head out to face off against Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vanlue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
