Basketball Recap: Dekaney Wildcats vs. Nimitz Cougars
Dekaney lost against Nimitz back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dekaney Wildcats had to suffer through a 68-18 loss at the hands of the Nimitz Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1184th, while the Cougars are ranked 335th).

Despite the defeat, Dekaney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Collins posted eight points and three steals. Collins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
