After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rolling Hills Prep, the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators were happy to have found some success on Monday. They strolled past Varsity Opponent with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hawthorne Math & Science Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Roland Essah, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyron Blanchette, who scored 12 points.
Hawthorne Math & Science Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 321-1188-2.
Hawthorne Math & Science Academy will head out on the road to challenge Lennox Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lennox Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Galesburg Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
