Baseball Recap: Austintown-Fitch Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Austintown-Fitch's offense. They lost 10-0 to the GlenOak Golden Eagles on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 25th.

Austintown-Fitch has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for GlenOak, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austintown-Fitch will venture away from home to square off against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for GlenOak, they are taking a road trip to take on Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Golden Eagles 2.8, the Tigers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
