Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Prep Skates Past Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts with Ease

Chattanooga Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They breezed past the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles to the tune of 76-44. Given the Sentinels' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Eagles are ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chattanooga Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Roberson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Roberson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Austin Jones, who en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Chattanooga Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Henderson, who posted nine points. Landon Caldwell was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chattanooga Prep's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points over those games. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-16.

As of now, neither Chattanooga Prep nor Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts have any future games scheduled.
