Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Jasper's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tuscaloosa County, Jasper was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They skirted past the Cullman Bearcats 4-2. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 11-9 victory the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Emersyn Haney was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Kilgore, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Jasper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Jasper is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.44 runs across that stretch. Cullman's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, Jasper will challenge Orange Beach at 6:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for Cullman, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against East Lawrence at 4:30 p.m.
