Volleyball Game Preview: Stillwater Pioneers vs. Community Christian Royals

The Stillwater Pioneers will head out to face off against the Community Christian Royals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Stillwater is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mustang just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. While the Pioneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-18 in the first set.

Stillwater started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Stillwater got top-tier performance from Taylor Rattay, who had 28 digs and three assists. Rattay has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kael Valdois, who had 11 digs.

Meanwhile, Community Christian had already won 24 in a row and they went ahead and made it 25 on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bronchos by a score of 2-0.

Community Christian easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12.

Stillwater's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Community Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 30-1.

Stillwater couldn't quite get it done against Community Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
