Parkston had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans on Tuesday. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Parkston had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-19.

Coming up, Parkston will head out on the road to face off against Chamberlain at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they will be playing at home against Elk Point-Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
