Volleyball Game Preview: Vianney Golden Griffins vs. De Smet Jesuit Spartans

The Vianney Golden Griffins will square off against the De Smet Jesuit Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Vianney got the win against Chaminade by a conclusive 3-0. The Golden Griffins haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Vianney was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-11.

Meanwhile, De Smet Jesuit entered their tilt with Chaminade on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Red Devils 3-0.

De Smet Jesuit was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-11.

De Smet Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Vianney, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Vianney took their win against De Smet Jesuit in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Golden Griffins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
