Volleyball Game Preview: Farmington River Hawks vs. Lewis Mills Spartans

The Farmington River Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Lewis Mills Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Farmington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: East Hartford, who was ranked 19th at the time (Farmington was ranked eighth). The River Hawks fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lewis Mills came up short against Simsbury on Friday and fell 3-1. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-22, 23-25, 25-13.

Farmington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Lewis Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Farmington took their win against Lewis Mills when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the River Hawks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
