Softball Recap: Arroyo Dons vs. Hayward Farmers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arroyo). They never let the Hayward Farmers get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won three in a row.
Ariana Rocha and Sadie Fernandez were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rocha didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Fernandez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rocha has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Rocha got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Fernandez went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Fernandez a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arroyo got a massive performance out of Hailey Howard, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Howard a new career-high in doubles (two). Arroyo now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hayward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
