Softball Recap: Round Lake Panthers vs. Rolling Meadows Mustangs

Round Lake had lost 15 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it 16. They came up short against the Rolling Meadows Mustangs, falling 14-1. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Piper Berry was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and three stolen bases.
