Basketball Recap: Blake Piles Up the Points Against Boca Ciega

Blake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 90-55 win over the Boca Ciega Pirates. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Blake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Lewis, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. The game was Lewis' third in a row with at least 19 points. Joe Philon was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six blocks.

Blake was working as a unit and finished the game with 32 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Blake, bringing their record for this year to 24-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.8 points. As for Boca Ciega, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Looking ahead, Blake will square off against Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Gibbs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 matchups. Boca Ciega does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
