Baseball Recap: Scott Gets the Win

Scott came out on top against Western Hills on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Eagles walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Mustangs. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Trevor Pulsfort spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trey Cook, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Scott's record is now 9-6. As for Western Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scott will host Bishop Brossart at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Mustangs 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Western Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hughes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
