Softball Recap: San Manuel Takes a Loss

San Manuel was the 14-3 winner over Ray when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The San Manuel Miners fell just short of the Ray Bearcats by a score of 9-8 on Tuesday.

Laila Ruiz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Hawkins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

San Manuel's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, San Manuel will head out on the road to face off against Bisbee at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ray, they will be playing at home against Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
