Basketball Game Preview: Astoria Fishermen vs. Stayton Eagles

The Astoria Fishermen will take on the Stayton Eagles in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Astoria took a 20-point defeat the last time they faced off against Gladstone, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Fishermen made off with a 55-54 win over the Gladiators.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stayton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Seaside, posting a 52-22 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Astoria, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
