Basketball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cherryville last Tuesday, Foard came back down to earth. The Foard Tigers took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Iredell Raiders on Friday. The Tigers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for North Iredell, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Foard and North Iredell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Foard (ranked 535th) will meet West Iredell (ranked 179th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, North Iredell will face off against West Cabarrus on Friday down 264 places (491 vs. 227).
