Softball Recap: Fort Myers Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

After losing to LaBelle the last time they met, Fort Myers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Fort Myers Green Wave's way against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls on Thursday as the Fort Myers Green Wave made off with a 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.

The team relied heavily on Sarah Buntrock, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tegan Webb, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Fort Myers pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for LaBelle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Fort Myers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Charlotte on the 21st. As for LaBelle, they will head out to square off against Moore Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
