Baseball Recap: Holy Name Takes a Loss

Holy Name was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chagrin Falls Tigers.

Ryan Wisniewski made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Garrett Niemiec, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Holy Name's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Chagrin Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Name will face off against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chagrin Falls, they will take on West Geauga at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
