Volleyball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove entered their match against Sheldon on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Elk Grove Thundering Herd fell 3-1 to the Sheldon Huskies. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

While Elk Grove ultimately came up short, they really made Sheldon work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 26-24.

Sheldon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kiet Bach out in front who had 15 digs and one assist. The dominant performance gave Bach a new career-high in digs.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sheldon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Coming up, Elk Grove will head out on the road to challenge Pleasant Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheldon, they will welcome Monterey Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Monterey Trail their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
