Softball Recap: Corona Del Sol Has No Trouble Against O'connor

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Queen Creek, Corona del Sol was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the O'Connor Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That three run margin sets a new team best for the Aztecs this season.

Not much got past Caitlyn Ackerley, who gave up just four hits to keep O'Connor off the board. Those hits were Ackerley's first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jami Sheehan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Corona del Sol's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2. As for O'Connor, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Corona del Sol will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mountain Ridge at 3:45 p.m. Mountain Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season. As for O'Connor, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hamilton at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Connor also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.4 runs per game.
