Basketball Recap: Great Bridge Comes Up Short

After soaring to 63 points the game before, Great Bridge was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Deep Creek Hornets and fell 94-20. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deep Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cherish Brehon, who posted 25 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Brehon a new career-high in points. Alaya Monroe was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Great Bridge now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Deep Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Great Bridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 defeat against Norfolk Academy on the 12th. As for Deep Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-18 win against Oscar Smith on the 13th.
