Baseball Recap: Dr. Phillips Takes a Loss

Dr. Phillips suffered their biggest defeat since April 9, 2025 on Friday. They came up short against the Boone Braves, falling 13-5. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Braves since Friday.

Dr. Phillips got a good showing from Ronald Machado, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, Dr. Phillips saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Jenniex, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Jenniex also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Dr. Phillips and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Boone, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dr. Phillips will challenge Edgewater at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boone, they will face off against Colonial at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Grenadiers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
